An Evening in Manchester May 26 2016, 0 Comments

Treat your other half this weekend to a special evening in one of Manchester’s finest gourmet restaurants or luxury bars. We have composed the perfect list of choices for different cuisines and atmospheres for you to make the most of this bank holiday weekend.

Restaurants

1. TATTU

Tattu is where contemporary cuisine meets meticulous design and artistic traditions. Located in the heart of Spinningfields, the restaurant offers an exotic Chinese menu developed with modern influences that showcases the most celebrated Chinese flavors. The restaurant has announced the launch of a new menu to celebrate the first anniversary at the end of this month. You can expect to see beef ho fun noodles, soy and orange butter chicken with Szechuan salt and lily bulb. Don’t leave without admiring the grand blossom tree that tower over the diners to give the full oriental experience.

2. DUKES 92

The restaurant describes its self as ‘Manchester’s hidden gem’ and they couldn’t be more correct. Manchester’s most established canalside bar is located in Castlefield and is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a £1 million refurbishment to reflect the restaurant’s industrial heritage. The use of brickwork, wood and black metal is in reference to its original use as a stable block for horses. The Dukes menu has been completely redesigned and has an emphasis on classic pub food, produced with high quality local ingredients. The outside terrace is buzzing with life during the summer months as people enjoy a drink by the lock 92, after which the bar is named.

3. SAN CARLO

Celebrity chef Aldo Zilli is responsible for the success of the award-winning restaurant. A favorite of celebrities, San Carlo displays a menu of authentic Italian cuisine and an ambient atmosphere. The restaurant is located on Deansgate and commended for their wine list and high levels of service. The vibrant orange interior distinguishes the restaurant from others and creates a lively atmosphere. It was the setting for one of the best ever JLB Christmas parties and we can highly recommend the Limoncello.

After a few drinks if you fancy a drink we have selected a few of the finest bars to go relax in.

Bars

1. ROOF GARDEN PLAYGROUND

If heights don’t phase you then definitely head up to the Roof Garden Playground. The bar offers stunning views of the city whilst enjoying a cocktail or two. The ambiance is stylish, modern and comfortable. Perfect for an after work drink or in the evening, a romantic candlelit destination.

With two central bars, one in Spinningfields and another on New York Street, The Alchemist is Manchester’s iconic cocktail bar serving an array of weird and wonderful alcoholic creations. They are very popular for after work drinks and thriving with socialites on a weekend, definitely worth a visit.
3. PLY

For a more alternative atmosphere, Ply is a modern, creative space designed to allow schmoozing and socializing. The drinks menu features craft beers, globally sources spirits and artisan coffee. The wood-fired disco ball pizza oven brightens up the interior and bakes freshly made Neapolitan pizzas – which they’ve been known to bring into our office at lunchtime. Not that we’re biased. We can confirm they are delicious.

What to Wear…

We recommend the Jiggler Lord Berlue Jonas Blazer and Blijah Shirt for an evening out in Manchester. Wear as an open collar with chinos or dark jeans for a smart casual look.
