1. Fancy Picnics
If you are going to have a picnic at Ascot, you may as well do it in style. No doubt people will be fully equipped with wine glasses, centrepieces and various types of cutlery.
3. Extravagant Hats
Ascot can turn into a fashion show as people turn up in their finest suits, best dresses and of course craziest hats. The ‘hat-off’ sometimes pushes people to go a little over the top meaning Ascot has seen some sights over the years.
3. Claire Balding and Other Celebrities
Balding is definitely not a one to miss a horse sporting event and it is guaranteed that she will be somewhere within the racecourse looking professional as always. Keeps your eyes peeled for other celebrities too.
Ascot is the perfect occasion to enjoy a few bubbles as the horses race buy. We just hope you haven’t spent all of your winnings, as a glass of champagne will be a little pricey.
5. People Who Have Drunk Too Much Champagne
Of course if you do choose to spend your winnings on champagne, make sure you don’t go overboard and remember you are in the presence of the Royal Family…
6. The Royal Family
Be sure to spot at least one member of the Royal Family and I’m sure the queen won’t be hard to miss in one of her bright ensembles. They are the true spirit of Ascot.
7. Well Groomed Horses
Of course you can expect to see the most well groomed racehorses in the country.
8. Top Hats
Lastly, expect to notice the abundance of top hats. Ascot is one of the rare events where this style is still adopted.
What To Wear
We recommend the Damon blazer, as modelled here by blogger @rale_popic. For a smart race day look, wear with our simple Malachy shirt that features a discreet paisley print, straight leg black trousers or chinos and high quality leather shoes.
